Service Projects

Adopt-A-Street Community
In cooperation with the Town of Fountain Hills, we pick up litter on designated streets in town. This is done 5-6 times a year to maintain a clean appearance in town and help the environment. Not your normal pick up stick routine – sometimes donuts & coffee, or contest to see who collects the strangest item. Gotta have fun and keep things interesting.

Blood Drives
In cooperation with Vitalant and the Town of Fountain Hills, we coordinate five blood drives each year that bring in hundreds of pints of blood and the resulting saving of hundreds of lives through blood products. We have won many awards due to these popular community blood drives. The Town of Fountain Hills helps sponsor the drives by offering the Community Center at no charge.

Breakfast with Santa
A festive event traditionally on the first Saturday of each December that allows hundreds of kids, parents and grandparents to enjoy a breakfast, be entertained by clowns and have a photo taken with the Jolly Old Elf himself.

Extended Hands Food Bank
At the Fountain Hills facility, we help sort food, bag some items and prepare food boxes to be given away. We’ve contributed funds to the organization for many years, plus provide an ongoing tradition of hands-on service as well.

Food for Kidz
In cooperation with New Journey Lutheran Church and other organizations, we help pack special dehydrated food kits that are sent out locally and internationally to needy families; 70,000 meals were “packed” in one evening by our club and town volunteers, a site to be seen!

Ronald McDonald House
On a regular basis we prepare home-cooked meals to share with families who are staying at one of three Ronald McDonald Houses in the Phoenix area. These families typically have children who are undergoing major medical therapies or surgeries. We also sponsor one of the rooms for families to stay while awaiting hospital treatment.

Kiwanis One Day
We join with all the Kiwanis-related groups in town to perform a service project to benefit the community. For the past several years we have partnered to perform maintenance and other improvements at the local Boys & Girls Club as well as other locations such as STARS and the Kiwanis Activity Center.

Make a Difference Day
We join the Town of Fountain Hills in this national event and volunteer for hands-on work in the community to directly benefit those who cannot do the work themselves — landscaping, cleaning, repairs, painting, whatever needs to be done.
